Scooby‑Do Good: The Mystery of Raising a Future Guide Dog

Join the gang for Scooby‑Do Good: The Mystery of Raising a Future Guide Dog, a Scooby‑Doo–inspired journey from puppyhood to purpose. Follow Scooby as she learns confidence, courage, and the skills needed to become a life‑changing partner for someone who is blind. This presentation uncovers the real‑life “mysteries” behind raising a hero in the making — and the joy, challenge, and meaning found along the way. And, y’all will be helping to train Scooby as she takes the stage for the first time. Will an audience singing the Scooby-Doo theme song trip her up or earn her a Scooby snack?

Scooby is a five-month-old Labrador puppy born into the Leader Dogs for the Blind 501c3 organization.   At 8 weeks old she came to me, a first-time volunteer puppy raiser.  I’m an analyst by day and she and I are taking this journey together.

Yard Signs Don’t Plant Themselves
The yard signs appear. The ads take over. Someone knocks on your door during dinner. But how does a political campaign actually happen? Senator Jamie Selzler takes you inside the awkward fundraising calls and endless decisions between “I should run for office” and the last precinct reporting. Find out where the money goes, why spreadsheets don’t tell the whole story, and how a recount can make a bad night worse.

Jamie Selzler represents Fargo’s District 44 in the North Dakota State Senate. He spent nearly 20 years at Amazon, where he led large teams and operations, and has worked in politics and campaigns for more than two decades. Jamie has experience on multiple sides of politics, from campaign work and party leadership to serving in public office. He’s previously spoken at Nerd Nite about his 375-pound weight loss story

Must be something in the beer- this is the second senator we’ve had on stage in two months. đŸ„ŽđŸ˜‚ OH, and since it’s winding down to the end of the year and we need to burn up our budget, the first 30 people to the door will get a free drink ticket, on us! (That’s arriving at the door, not order of tickets bought- applies whether you buy your ticket in advance or not.) PLUS our usual allotment of door prizes and giggles and near-end of week shenanigans.

See your beautiful faces Thursday October 15th, 7PM (doors at 6:30) at The Cellar below Front Street Taproom. Tickets for sale now on Eventbrite, or bring $10 to the door (same price to you either way) for our best show of 2026 yet.
