Clare’s venture into sex research began at the age of 15, when she surveyed 162 students at her high school about their sexual activity or lack thereof for a school project. A decade later, she found herself presenting her own original, independent research on BDSM in popular culture at the annual conferences for the Midwest Sociological Society, the Society for the Study of Symbolic Interaction, and the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality, as well as two student conferences. Since then, she has given a guest lecture on BDSM every year for the Sociology of Sexual Behavior class at MSUM.

  • We were originally planning to have presenters from the Blue Belles Burlesque show as well, but life happened (like it do) and they had to drop out.  However, they are planning to present at a future Nerd Nite, so stay tuned!
